Kate Moss booted off best-dressed list

The supermodel was beaten by rival catwalk queen Agyness Deyn, 25, who retained her number one spot for the second year in the list compiled by Grazia magazine.

Deyn is followed by Gwyneth Paltrow, who recently shed her mumsy image to wow the fashion press with a series of mini-dresses and skyscraper Christian Louboutin designer heels.

Sarah Jessica Parker came third, despite being ridiculed for the eccentric green hat she wore to the premiere of the Sex and the City film.

For the first time, French President's wife Carla Bruni-Sarkozy has made the list, at number five, followed by model Daisy Lowe and Batman actress Maggie Gyllenhaal. Model Elle Macpherson and actress Uma Thurman are in joint seventh.

The top 10 is completed by actresses Natalie Portman and Kate Hudson and Dasha Zhukova, Roman Abramovich's girlfriend.

In last year's list Moss came fifth.

Grazia Editor Jane Bruton said: "Agyness Deyn had to take the crown. Her influentially eclectic look, trailblazing ability to segue between style personalities and pure fashion nous has had us captivated for months."

Moss has fallen from favour in recent years following allegations about her private life and a turbulent relationship with rock bad boy Pete Doherty. Despite launching a designer range for TopShop in 2007, Moss has failed to recapture her former success.

She is now rumoured to be close to marrying Jamie Hince, guitarist for The Kills.
