Grease is the word: Amy Winehouse goes for the Pink Lady look

Amy Winehouse abandoned her usual uniform of shorts and a vest today to dress in a Grease-inspired Fifties outfit.

The troubled singer donned leggings, peep-toe heels and a pink satin jacket as she left her north London home this morning, aping the style of the Pink Ladies from the classic film musical.

Amy has previously admitted to being a fan of the 1978 movie and even played Rizzo in a school production of the music when she was 11 years old.

Accompanied by her minder, Amy rushed out of her Camden home to visit incarcerated husband Blake Fielder-Civil.

The 23-year-old singer is anxiously anticipating the sentencing of her husband Blake on Monday.

The music video assistant recently pleaded guilty to charges of perverting the course of justice and causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) in relation to an assault on London pub landlord James King in June 2006.

Blake - who has been behind bars in London's Pentonville Prison since his arrest in November - is facing a possible five years in jail when he is sentenced next week.

The couple had only been married for six months when Blake was arrested.

The Fifties outfit is a smarter look for Amy after her increasingly dishevelled appearance of the past year.

Since being hospitalised for the early stages of emphysema last month, Amy appears to be taking better care of herself after reckless past behaviour.

She returned to form with a series of successful performances at European festivals over the summer including T In The Park in Scotland, Rock In Rio in Portugal and the Concert For Mandela in London.

Victoria Beckham's frank admission: 'My looks are incredibly ordinary... I just make the best of what I have'

Victoria Beckham has credited careful grooming rather than genetics for her head-turning Posh look in a frank new interview.

Despite acquiring a handsome husband and status as a paparazzi favourite, the former Spice Girl insists she doesn't consider herself exceptionally attractive.

She told Allure magazine: 'I'm a normal-looking girl, and I just make the best of what I have.

'I'm not out-of-the-ordinary looking at all - I'm incredibly ordinary.'

The mother of three, who rarely leaves the house without stilettos and a firmly fixed pout, says after years of practice, she now has red carpet preparations down to a fine art.

She told the publication: 'If I'm going to an event, it takes me about an hour and a half to put my hair up and have some makeup put on.

'[But] I don’t have a stylist. I deal with that side of things myself.'

With so many preening tricks up her selve, Victoria says she yearns to impart her wisdom on a daughter.

She added: 'At the moment, we're fine, the five of us.

'At some point, I'd love to have a girl, you know - just for all the clothes I've got to hand down. It would be tremendous fun.'

'I've got great girlie advice that I can share.'
